1. The Service

transcribed.dev provides YouTube video transcription through a web application, API, and Chrome extension. We extract existing captions when available and use AI-powered audio transcription (Whisper) as a fallback on paid plans. These terms govern your use of all transcribed.dev services.

2. Accounts

You may create one account per person. You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• - Abuse the service — Don't attempt to circumvent rate limits, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with the service for other users.
• - Scrape YouTube through us — Don't use transcribed.dev as a proxy to systematically scrape or bulk-download YouTube content.
• - Resell transcripts — Transcripts are for your personal or internal business use. Don't resell or redistribute them as a competing service.

4. Copyright & Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to transcribe any content you submit to transcribed.dev. By using the service, you represent and warrant that your use of transcribed.dev does not violate any applicable copyright or intellectual property laws. We do not review content submitted for transcription and are not responsible for any copyright infringement by users.

If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, please see our DMCA Policy for instructions on filing a takedown notice. We reserve the right to remove any transcript in response to a valid takedown request.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

transcribed.dev offers Free, Pro, and Power tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle. You can cancel anytime from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you won't be charged again.

6. Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans, no questions asked. If you're not satisfied within the first 14 days of a new subscription, contact us for a full refund.

7. Your Data

We store your email address, transcripts, and usage counts to provide the service. Your transcripts belong to you — we don't claim any ownership over content you generate. You can delete your transcripts at any time from your library.

8. Limitation of Liability

transcribed.dev is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Transcription quality may vary depending on audio clarity, language, and source material. YouTube may change its platform or access policies at any time, which could affect our ability to retrieve captions or audio. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior. Where possible, we'll notify you before taking action and give you a chance to address the issue. You can delete your account at any time.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we'll notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service will be resolved in accordance with applicable law. Both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally before pursuing formal legal action.
