What We Collect
- - Email address — collected during sign-up via Supabase Auth.
- - Transcripts — the text content of videos you transcribe.
- - Usage counts — how many transcriptions you have used against your plan quota.
- - API keys (hashed) — if you generate an API key, we store a hashed version. We cannot see the original key.
- - Payment info — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
What We Don't Collect
- - We do not collect or store your YouTube account credentials.
- - We do not store video or audio files.
- - We do not use cross-site tracking cookies or pixels.
How Data Is Stored
Your data is stored in a Supabase Postgres database with encryption at rest. Access is restricted to authenticated requests scoped to your account.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following services to operate transcribed.dev:
- - Supabase — authentication and database. Stores your email and transcripts.
- - Stripe — payment processing. We never see or store your card number.
- - OpenRouter — audio transcription for videos without captions. Audio is sent for processing but not stored.
- - Resend — email delivery for feedback submissions.
- - Vercel — web hosting. May collect server logs and IP addresses.
- - Railway — worker hosting. May collect server logs.
- - Decodo — residential proxy used to fetch YouTube pages reliably. No user data is sent through the proxy.
- - PostHog — anonymized usage analytics to help us improve the product.
Data Retention
Transcripts are kept until you delete them. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed.
Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data at any time. Contact us and we will fulfill your request promptly.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie for Supabase authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookie-based analytics.
Children
transcribed.dev is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
